Description

This gentleman was hoping for Chub or Roach. Fritz was hoping he had left his bait box open...he is the only dog I have had who has stolen a mouthful of live maggots. How hungry do you have to be? The close season is over (15th March to 15 th June) so we must all muck along as pleasantly as possible.

Wonderful composition in this beautiful and peaceful scene. And let's not be too judgmental. After all, none of us know what maggots taste like (I hope).

that is the thing that appeals to me about fishing, sitting in a tranquil spot, musing on he meaning of life, if a fish decides to attach itself to my hook all well and good, and if it doesn't, who cares.

A beautiful shot, brings back fond memories when I was younger fishing with my late father on those hot summers we had every year in the 70's.. those were halcyon days, when Jack Hargreaves was on UK TV with Out of Town, wish we had digital photography in those days because I would have some fine specimens to show.. I got some photographs but not half as many as I would have liked for those times. I remember the bait box being open and the robin's came and perched on the side having a dip in there, I often threw the birds a few on the bank. It was as much about the wild life as the fishing. Is this a pond or river section, you mentioned chub so a shot in the dark is it may be a river?.

This is like a Constable painting. I love it. I also love fishing, and I must be a big softeeee cos I put back 95% of everything I catch. I only keep what I am going to eat that night.

Muck along....am I reading that right? The only muck that I'm familiar with has something to do with muck and mire. Fine foto of the solitary fisherman hoping to land something edible, A.

I used to do a bit of fishing I must find time to do it again, and I used to know a fisherman who sucked on maggots.
