Description

Guarded by a Spitfire and Hurricane ( both MkI Battle of Britain veterans). Far left (almost out of frame, but more later)...... MESSERSCHMITT Bf110G-4/R6 JUNKERS Ju88 R-1 MESSERSCHMITT Bf109E-4/B HEINKEL He111 H-20/R1 All six aircraft have a tale to tell, perhaps the most unusual, the Ju88 R-1..... all will be revealed. Well, Rob and I got up early on the Sunday for the trek to London. We arrived well ahead of the first 'film show' in the Battle of Britain Hall' so the lights were on....nice leisurely photo op...until the security guard announced the film was starting early.....they do it on purpose!! but we got what we wanted. Not sure if the guard was surprised or annoyed that we didn't want to watch the show....not sure what he said to be quite honest, he wasn't English. Eastern European, minimum wage job fodder...in The Battle of Britain Hall....now there's an image....

Excellent Neil! Everything in this image shouts out 'Battle of Britain'. These places seem to be full of jobs-worth's these days who won't let you just get on and enjoy what you have come to see lol.

Hmm... the bloke probably thought you were either a spy or someone out "casing the joint" for a midnight theft of captive plane! Nice photo. And, YES!, I'm looking foreward to the story behind each of these planes! I'm glad you got to do this panorama. I suspect you were to stay ON the blue carpet which could be a reason for nervous guards. They wouldn't want anyone climbing on the exhibits - they might fall and get hurt. And, of course, it would be the plane's fault! MORE! MORE! MORE! :-)

Very cool, a great Panorama Neil... great to see all those jerry planes too.. all we have down here is a captive Zero! Museum floor roles , like Quality audit roles, seem to attract a particular brand of flat earther's....

Maybe a sequel to "Night at the Museum" is on the cards... all those engines would get quite noisy though... Great set piece of the principle protagonists
