Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Wonderful work on the vase there Andrea. I have an app that can create virtual vases and print them out on a 3D printer too. I will post a few some time.

Egad. you're having that agonizing examination of your mammaries. Hope you came/come through with flying colors. Splendid composition of the heavily postworked vase, Andrea. Do you pronounce it "voz," "vase," or "vayze" in the UK?

Ah, mammography. One of the few machines left over from the Inquisition if I remember correctly. Wonderful work on this. I wouldn't mind seeing a real finish like this on a vase.

I hope that all comes out well, including recovery from being smashed like a melon. Wonderful image and great postwork

Great filter work - I like the strong detail on the vase & the lighter treatment of the background...

A remarkable piece of work on this one! Why can't you see your own shots? I would think they would not be able to stop you from seeing them if you wanted. I arranged for someone to step in and take a photo of my heart during open-heart surgery back in '93. It's not pretty but I do have it (several color slides)! And no one can say I'm heartless, LOL!

I'd rather see this digifiddled vase photo than the other that they took today! :o) I hope the Mammo shots come out clean!

Very nice vase and postwork :-)

Excellent digifiddle, Andrea. At my mammo place it's all digital, so I can see it on the monitor screen immediately. Not that I have much of clue what I'm looking at! And it isn't much consolation for all the discomfort of having the darn exam to begin with!

Such a great outcome, very artistic; I love it, Andrea! I hope it was a screening, as happens in the Netherlands, that all women over a certain age should go for a mammogram. So I hope there is nothing suspicious in your case, and all will be well, my friend.
