Description
No matter what's in the air at Duxford, for me, a Spitfire or a Hurricane gets me every time....the way they fly coupled with the way they sound....there's nothing better! Well I'm British, what do you expect?
This is another that I uploaded from my camera and thought "did I take that"?.......BUT still not the best.....

Raises the hairs on the back of your neck eh!!. It is a great shot Neil.. air to air is bloody hard to get that 'great shot'.. and I think this is a goody.. a bit of atmospheric haze, but that all adds to the ambience and real worldness.. if I am making sense! Interesting scheme on that Hurri too.

Hello Neil! You couldn't have gotten a better shot if you had bribed the pilot to bank just at the right angle and at the right time in front of your camera. Really a stunning pic, well done mate. You cant go wrong with a classic like this.

Thanks so much for this mate. Takes me back to 1971 when I built my first Airfix Hurricane. I been a huge fan of these aircraft ever since. I agree with Tryphon, you really couldn't have got a better picture and I can only imagine the wonderful sound of that Merlin. Instant fav and new desktop image :)

Excellent shot! Going to be tough to top it. Interesting tail flash - usually with WWII planes it's on the forward part of the fin; here's it's the whole rudder. Very "WWI".

I tried looking on the net fo get some tips on airshow photography but there seems to be no one path to get that killer shot. two main factors seem to be correct shutter speed for jets or props and smooth panning. The rest seems to depend on how quick your auto focus can lock on the subject and keep that clarity. You did a good job here and I am glad you posted the image.

Neil, all I can say is fantastic! Looks like a model placed against a sky background with an expert's lighting. But, you are the expert and this is reality. Tryphon's said it all. Excellent!

Now, I did find out some thing's about this Hurricane.. This appearance at Flying Legends was its U.K. debut! It had just come from New Zealand... It was built in Brooklands in 1940, fought in the Battle Of France and was only one of 18 to make it back! A real Legend! Great capture Neil. Rob
