Better late than still alive we always say. That saying applies to this one more than any of the rest of our felonious females. Volmaris of Zorrin, or as she was more recently known as, Volmara the Weaponsmaster of the Xanth Guild.

Volmara had a tragic childhood, but like so many, who cares? Her troubled childhood, born to an Atheaen mother raped by an Equideyean warlord and raised as a slave in a traveling road show of horrors and hatred, is great back story,… but it doesn’t give anyone the right to become a murdering monster. Once her mother got her away from her father, the real damage began. For her mother was a devout worshipper of Artemis, and as such hated men almost as much as the barbarians of the Amazoko isles. When she was old enough, her mother sold her to a ludus in Viridia, not for the money she’d gain, but for the education she wanted to impart on her daughter. The best defense is slaughtering everyone who even looks sideways at you, weeks before they squirrel up the gumption to even look at you.

So, Volmara set out on a life journey that would ultimately lead to her own bloody death and her head being mounted on a pike outside the Constantine Estate for the crows to pick at. Along the way, however, she left a trail of blood from Viridia, across the swamps of Maeceyea, through the isles of the Kingdom of Atheae, and up the long steppes of Equideyea to the Transvahlt Range and the Cliffs of Glyth. Many were the victories she counted in battle, until the blood became her bath water.

As to her preferences, her “perfect” date? Forget it. First, Volmara was a died-in-the-wool man-hater. Though she worked for a man, the master of the Xanth Guild, Haziz Fekesh, she would just as soon have gutted his bloated belly and been done with him. She headed his personal guard and the Guild’s elite warriors, which kind of falls into the “keep your enemies closer” category. But lest you think that meant she was a lesbian, forget that too. She considered any kind of sexual liaison a weakness, a tactical mistake, and she saw everything as a military challenge to overcome, even life itself. With just irony, she was slain not by a warrior wielding a blade, but by an eighteen year old priestess of Isis with a Staff of the Magi.
