------------- Tales of the Raptor – One Adventure Done
The flight into Hallof was short and somewhat anticlimactic. They landed north of town and dispelled the summoned Gryphons, conjured up a Regal Procession and continued on. Elly had a few people she wanted to talk to and they all felt like a night in a comfortable inn might be a good idea. There was little they could do about selling most of their gathered treasures in Hallof. That would have to wait until they reached Xanthius. But they certainly had enough coinage to pay for a night and buy some decent wine and ale. Jay even managed to find a humidor that sold a halfway decent cigar. Now if she could just find a single malt to go with it.
That evening they spent time hanging around the tavern they’d met in, talking to some of the locals and recounting their adventures of the last few weeks. A good time was had by all. Yashifa even managed to slip out from under Jay’s watchful eye long enough to spend some quality private time with a hunky farm boy who’d caught her eye.
The next morning they rose a little late, a few with heads a little more fuzzy than they might like, and headed out to the Aircobra. Yashifa opened up the Shrine and sent Adria, Elly and their Pegasi through, then closed it. The plan was to fly home to Xanthius and open up it up again at the Constantine Estate.
The flight back was quick and uneventful. Then again, there were few creatures who could threaten an aircraft flying over four hundred miles an hour somewhere above twenty thousand feet. They settled at the Xanthius airfield before noon and made the trip across town by carriage, then welcomed their two new friends to their palatial home on the east side in time for a late lunch.
That evening they had a semi-formal dinner party. From Adria’s reaction to the news of the presence of the Carnelian Sisterhood in Xanthius, it was a good thing Sabine had already severed ties with the Cliff Raptors. But neither Adria nor Elly were foolish. They both knew of Xanthius, its history and its ways, and they both knew it would take more than the moral outrage of a WarPriestess of Athena to make a dent in that society. They had found reliable and trusted comrades and weren’t particularly interested in severing that relationship. Besides, there were more evils yet to be vanquished in the wildlands and who better to watch their backs than Jay, Yashifa and Zheuretta, the Cliff Raptors. That was but one adventure completed. How many more yet to go?
