Description
From the serene milieu of beautiful Legg Lake, to the crude image of a rusted padlock, all within the space of 24 hours.
Captured 7/30/13, early AM, off a large metal utility box on the sidewalk of a busy intersection, about a mile away.
Better detail via ZOOM.
Allaismalardik, baby, and have a nice day.

I cant tell if this lock is actually securing something or is it like many of your others ; " Just Hanging Out ." Good Shot

I like this, so nicely blending in with its environment (thanks to the paint job!) Too bad it's starting to rust, although it does lend a bit of colour to the scene. What a lovely composition you've given us here, with lines, curves, shadows and texture...nicely done, my friend!

andrea wrote "super composition": Yes. But it's super because it's so simple. You let the padlock be the star, you contrasted it with a simple diagonal, you got variety through all the rust and decay details, and it all tapers off toward the bottom. Really basic composition, and it sets of the padlock perfectly. With your riotous melanges of padlocks with chains and other detritus, this---with some others---stands out as the 'solo' side of your padlock series, minimal in nature, visual haikus. Still, the details are complex, including the worn paint on the padlock where we see the silver coming through. Love the detail, love the simplicity. A wonderful solo shot... Harry, while I'm dying to do more, I have to move on and rest. I'll be back. I hope your ebots are going strong again. And in the week before the ebots problem, I left around 12 or more comments---I hope you got those ebots too. I wrote to RR about it and they were unaware, but they said they'd fix them. And finally, your comments in my gallery continue to be among the best on the site. You're detailed, and still with an overview; and I always appreciate your support and perceptions of my images. I learn from them, and go back to my work because of them, and they've helped me continue as an artist. Thank you once again for your terrific work as a commenter.
