Vairano Patenora is an Italian town of 6,470 inhabitants in the province of Caserta in the Campania Region, Italy.
The term derives from the Latin name of Vairano person Varius with the addition of the suffix-anus indicating possession. So Vairano means land of Varius. Patenora, instead, refers to surrounding plain, excavated from Volturno, which is said Patenaria.
Vairano Patenora è un comune italiano di 6.470 abitanti della provincia di Caserta nella Regione Campania, in Italia.
Il termine Vairano deriva dal nome latino di persona Varius a cui si aggiunge il suffisso -anus che indica possesso. Quindi Vairano significa: terra di Vario. Patenora, invece, si riferisce alla pianura circostante, scavata dal Volturno, che è detta Patenaria.
