Description

My neighbor's clematis. It was absolutely covered in blooms! .................... I've been off line for a couple of days. Verizon must have had a little problem. We had no service, either phone or data, for three days running. I was able to get on the park's Tengonet service a couple of nights ago, but other than that we've been pretty much dead in the water. We drove into town yesterday afternoon and I called the service desk. Me: I need to report a lack of service in our area. Baby Service Tech: Are you there now? Me: No. I drove into town in order to call you. We have no service where we live. BST: Let me check on that for you. (pause) It looks like everything is okay. You're in Washington? Me: Yes BST: Like Washington Washington? Me: Yes. Like the one next to Oregon, not the one next to Virginia. BST: I don't think I've ever talked to anyone in Washington. Everything there looks fine. Me: Well, it isn't. It's not just us ... everyone that has Verizon in our campground has been without service for two days. BST: Do you have any trees there? Me: TREES???? Do you mean like fir trees? (Some of the cell towers in this area are made to look like trees, so I wasn't sure if he meant real trees or not.) BST: Yes. Tall trees. Me: Sh*t yes! Big freakin' 100 foot tall fir trees everywhere! BST: Maybe they're interfering with the signal. Me: I doubt it. They've been here for a long time .. we didn't just put them there yesterday! True story. I could never, in a million years, have thought this up on my own.

BST: Like Washington Washington? Me: Yes, like in George Washington! BST: Oh me oh my, yes I do indeed understand now, you are within the dollar bill, so you must be in Fort Knox? Me: How many Washington's do you know? BST: So you are in Knoxville then, and that is in America? Everything seem fine in America. Me: But we do not get any service! BST: Do you have any large golden towers there? .......... Love the Clematis shot!

Maybe it was the flowers interfering? Internet sucks here too, but I just got here so it might be all that prairie grass! Good thing all those trees didn't block out all the sun too! Great shot!

I read about a man who bought a computer and it wouldn't work, no matter what he did. He called the service tech, who walked him thru all kinds of stuff. He finally asked him to be sure the plug was in securely. The man said, "Oh, I need to plug it in??" The tech then walked the guy thru the process of packing it up in the original material, putting it in the box and sending it back. The man replied, "Oh, so it's really dead?" The tech said, "No sir, you're just too f---ing stupid to have a computer!!!!" Sounds like the same person's working for Verizon!!! LOVE the clematis, btw, we had a ton of it earlier, but not this gorgeous purpple!!

That's a gorgeous clematis, Tara - great capture! And now that I'm (almost) finished LMAO..... OMG!!! "Are you there, now?" "Of course I am.... I'm talking to you with a tin can and string since we have no service....." Jeeze.... I've been on both sides of that 1-800-tech-help phone, and have found that there is no shortage of stupidity on either end. Got a call one day from a lady that said she couldn't send a FAX with her computer. After a few questions, she informed me that she was holding the document up to the monitor, and trying to send it via FAX. I had to mute the phone until I was able to control my laughing... Sounds like you were connected with a real Einstein, though... :-D

Kinda makes you wonder how people manage to get out of bed and stay upright long enough to get a job, much less keep one! This is absolutely stunning; I remember seeing my first clematis ever when I moved to Portland, OR in about 1975--it was just this rich purple colour!

The flowers (apparently they are clematis - never heard of them) are beautiful. I love the color Tara. Your narrative with the cell phone tech is hilarious. He/she must be the product of the new trend in employment. Part time to prevent a real wage and benefits, probably a high school drop out. Geography - probably never heard of it. I admire your patience to deal with a moron like this. Anyway, i hope everything is back to normal - I will keep an eye out for you being on the net. It gives Bill a chance to put a dent in his reading W.E.B. Griffins books.
