Description

Captured 5/3/11, early morning, I know not where, but probably in the neighborhood. Original on top, and ultra cool via ZOOM. I'm back, after sustaining a bad fall, which left me in a state of physical agony and mental discombobulation for a few days. Nothing broken, with the pain slowly subsiding. So, that is the reason I didn't post any pics or make comments over that period. Bye bye, and have a nice day.

I am sorry to hear about your fall! I'm glad it was not serious long term. It sounds like it was pretty serious short term. I hope the pain is soon completely gone. Beautiful images! The original has a wonderful contrast of colors which makes it work really well in color variations. Also the absence of objects in the background works well. They are all beautiful. The third one is my favorite. I love the blue against the soft tangerine background. Take care of yourself, Harry.

Wow...I'm not commenting anywhere now but wanted to wish you speed in recovering from your fall! Any fall that leaves you in physical agony and mental discombobulation is not something to mess with (!) and I'm very relieved you're ok. I'm sure you'll be "hearing" from that pain for several days (it's the guest who never leaves). Take care of yourself! And if there's anyone who doesn't have to explain their absence in the galleries, it's you: You're as loyal as anyone on RR, so rest as much as you need. I hope the pain goes away quickly. As for the shot, the original has a print-like quality---like a graphic piece. It's very finely conceived and photographed, with fine gradations of light, dark and hue. Almost painterly. As for the variations, as Lucinda very accurately says, the contrast of colors in the original allows the variations to work really well. (Anyone who's made lots of black-and-whites out of color originals knows this: The the deeper the colors, the better the blacks and whites.) Beautiful, expressive and delicate variations, Harry, and a fine trio to add to your deservedly famous rose library. If I'd had the fall you had, I'd post a shot of a black hole, or a garden that'd been trodden on by a bear: You've got a very positive attitude! Take care of yourself, and heal quickly. A beautiful post and variations to go with it.
