Description
You gotta see this full size: It's nothing small!
Ok, it's just a slightly-blurred, over-exposed dawn shot, but with a sun like that, I couldn't resist.
(The surface in front is the pier, btw, and trust me, that thing's slippery when wet! I've slipped many a time taking these shots.....Also, a squirrel came up to me after the shoot and told me to raise my shutter speed, lower my f-stop and "get a tripod". So it was a humiliating time all around...)
I'll be leaving a few comments the next 2 weeks, so I decided to post a shot. Hope you're enjoying your August! Have a great week, all,
Mark

Mark, this really is a sensational looking capture. One can easily see why you were so excited to get this shot, as the view of the sun here. truly is magnificent. The pier provides the perfect setting despite the obvious dangers that come with it. Thanks for the laughs as I enjoyed hearing about the squirrel.

Really like the rust and purple colors in this shot. And I know how opinionated squirrels can be - they give me lip all the time up here in the mountains. :o)

A stunner! And how extremely uncivil of that rodent.

The squirrel was right!!! And if the sun isn't blowing up, I think the world is ending; this foto is just out of this world cool!!! or hot, I guess!!
MrsRatbag
A marvelous capture of this phenomenon; your rodents in Chicago are much more educated than the forest type we have here, I guess, because all I've ever gotten out of a squirrel is, "Hey, I'm eating here! Move on, lady!" Hmmph. Guess you'd better listen to yours! And it's great to see you posting again.

AMAZING IMAGE

Lush and stunning colors, contrast, lighting, textures and reflections in this capture of what otherwise suggests to me an ocean of root beer, Mark. Glad you didn't fall, such as I'm accustomed to doing in my own klutzy manner under similar circumstances. And I didn't realize that squirrels, usually intent on just scrounging for morsels to eat, had such photographic acumen, and the impertinence to give you gratuitous advice. Also, when the sun does decide to go supernova, humanity, or any other life form, won't be around to experience it.

I would know this for your work blindfolded and around the corner. It has your style and grace all over it. What a glorious photograph! Cheeky rodent ... don't listen to him. :P
