My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

the composition in this image is superb !

Looks idyllic but I would probably end up like Jack Nicholson in The Shining. Great composition and feeling of space in this image.

Love the open space punctuated by the wheel and the ranch

Beautiful capture, nicely composed. My mom grew up in South Dakota and I have driven through the area years ago, would love to get back some day.

It is so very ranch-like but I am a bit surprised that with the obvious resources that went into the house, they didn't find some gravel for that driveway. It would get very muddy, but then perhaps it is quite new yet.

Do I see a curve? This is lovely!

Looks like a lovely place - and what a great shot of it, Tara! I think we're going to go to SD on my vacation next month. Check out the badlands, maybe Rushmore.. Glad things are going well for you & Bill!

Superb capture Tara. God bless.

Great shot - you really have the foreground/background magic working here. The only minor suggestion I have is that you might have cropped out a chunk of the not terribly interesting looking sky...

Personally I think, this is a fine composition - the eyes naturally wander off into the distance, I do suppose, one could do the 1/3 thingy - but this looks so much more and vast this way ... I am so glad for you (or both), that a good time was had by all, rather than doing the regular routine - time to enjoy 'all your cousins' ;P BB

Amazing what a fantastic photo this is in many ways. I love it on the first sight, Tara. Wishing you luck with everything you enjoy. And sitting in front of the P.C. isn't the most healthy thing to do ;-).

Great capture and composition Tara. By leaving the sky the way you did it enhances the vastness of the wide open spaces. It reminds me a little of 'Dallas'. If you have somebody move next to you within 1/2 mile it becomes crowded!

Possibly in need of a small shrubbery lol ;-) Great vista! Impressive! Rob
