Description
I have not modeled in quite some time now, somewhat lost my way with it unfortunately. So I came back to a model I started after I finished The Wisteria Pool house which I haven't seemed to have uploaded for some reason, I must get round to that.
So this model dates back to sometime last year, I thought I best get back into the throws of it and have a go at finishing it off and familiarizing myself with Cinema again.
Thus far, the main corridor is modeled and UV mapped. I've yet to texture it, but my biggest concern is just what to model for the adjoining rooms. If I remember rightly I did have the idea for an Onsen when I started this model.
So any suggestions for rooms would be a godsend. I'm a little stuck at the moment. I wish my inspiration would come back again.
Many thanks for taking the time to look.
Mike

This is looking fantastic! Maybe one side have a dojo, and the other a lounge type of eating area/bar? That way 2 uses out of 1 master model, and a hallway between them to stage scenes and see either in the background?

Thundering, I like your thinking!! I had a faint idea about a Dojo one side this evening whilst I was browsing the web trying to think of something to fill the model with. I shall hunt for some sources to model from :)

First of all, gorgeous modeling. Absolutely gorgeous. It looks great. IMHO, this doesn't look like the place for a dojo. Aren't dojos typically separate from the house? That's certainly what I'm seeing in photos. There would be no way that a dojo and a bar would be connected. Martial arts are traditionally the realm of the samurai class, and bars and gambling are traditionally the realm of those who lack respectability. Necessary, but not classes that generally mix. A hot springs might be nice, but again, looking at references to double check, bath houses are generally separate in more traditional buildings. IMHO, it looks like the hallway in either a large house or a traditional hotel (ryokan). There's tons and tons of reference images of ryokan rooms and onsen on Google image search.
