Description

Just toying with some old photographs.. This was taken a few months ago during a trip to Knowsley Safari Park. I took my new Nikon 55-300mm AF-S DX f/4.5-5.6G ED VR lense with me to try get to grips with it. Got some okay shots, this being one of the better ones. Need to get out and use it more though, still so much to learn.

I edited two versions, one in colour and one in black and white. The black and white personally for me conveyed a stronger message than the colour version. I do feel the sky is a little washed out though, but it was a cloudless bright blue sky on the day.

Beautiful shot and I also like it in black and white - appropriate as African rhino come in black and white form too. These are two calves of similar age (4-6 months) but one would belong to another female, presumably out of the picture.
