Description
When I think about "natural wonders", I usually think about things that are very large & impressive - like majestic waterfalls or towering arches. But small things can be natural wonders too, can't they? In a Provincial Park in British Columbia, in the middle of a little known lake with the unpretentious name of "Brown Lake", this small group of plants has found a home for itself on the very tip of a mostly submerged old log. It seemed to me to be a very improbable place for plants to thrive, but there it is.
Very little postwork on this one - just a little sharpening & very minor brightness/contrast & vibrance adjustments. The ripple patterns look a lot better zoomed to full size...

A beautiful isolated wonder of nature.

you found the essence of wonders : they 're always small ( almost invisible, unless you are open to them)

Oh, lovely! We have a lot of things growing on exposed bits of wood in the water around here. A seed blows in, roots, and there you have it, a mini-garden. These are gorgeous!

What a beautiful sight! I can see why you were drawn to it. This is, indeed, a small natural wonder. The dark/bright ripples make me think there are evergreens along the shore of the lake.

A great find and capture - sort of a free floating terrarium!
