Description

Oh my, the water looks a bit choppy today. So, you go first! No, you go first! Captured 5/10/10, on the shoreline of beautiful Legg Lake, in the beautiful Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in South El Monte, California. Awesomely ZOOM worthy. Sayonara, baby, and have a simpatico day.

Cute pair, and you seem to have it down to what they are thinking. I wonder who pushes who in first.. :)

Hence the term "gooseneck", I guess...I can't imagine contorting my neck like that, but they seem to be double and triple jointed given the variety of postures they take. Lucky them! Fantastic capture of these athletic waterfowl, Harry; great light and colour in a perfect composition!

real clarity in these, Harry, and the visual movement from the front goose to the "ducking" one is all-of-a-line. It flows from tail to beak. (We get the phrase "to duck" from ducks' characteristic lowered heads; so even geese can be "ducky," lol---a phrase also stemming from the bird.) Fine work. And they're broken up by the line of the shore, another good choice. Denise was wondering the difference between ducks and geese---from what I know, the long goose neck is one big difference; and that neck gives the goose it's characteristic grace---which we see here in both birds. A very sweet capture of a goose duo, with clarity and linear flow. And the water is quite appealing. Fine portrait, Harry.
