------------- Tales of the Silver Gryphon – Tarlik
In the many adventures of the Silver Gryphon, their most steadfast champion was a Knight of the Order of the Crown. As was said somewhere before, Tarlik Harrahvius wasn’t a big man. He wasn’t skilled in magic, possessed of a Bard’s charms, or what his good friend Amanda Hayes would call ‘ripped’. What he was, was a warrior, skilled with a sword and possessed of an indomitable will. He was also dearly loved by all who knew him for more than a few days. But none more so than his life long love and lover, Fontana of Meldincourte.
How the two came together is a story long since told. How they lived and loved, that is a tale all by itself. But for Tarlik’s part, he swore himself to Fontana’s defense from the first day he saw her. Many were the times he stood in battle against foes too terrible to recount, with no thought ever for his own safety, but always for the protection of her.
In the dark days following The Night of Demons, when it seemed all of Carellon had been drug through the blood and muck of the Abyss, he stood as a shining beacon above the carnage and would not surrender hope. On the battlements of Castle Gryphonmyr, he stood alone to hold the fortress while the rest of the Silver Gryphon were descending into the dark depths beneath Mount Drovmyr to bring justice to those who had brought about that horrid hour. He nearly died there, alone and unaided, a life force feast for the many undead that still haunted its accursed halls.
In later years he claimed the title of Baron after Amanda moved on. And with Fontana by his side, became Duke of Falen. But in all his years and all his adventures, none would stand out in memory quite so strongly as that one Mantari’s Eve in Berraunwood Manor, the Night of Demons, when Tarlik was famously quoted as saying, “Never, ever, ever, leave the mansion without your armor!!”
