Description
Second in this series of old timers, an unidentified hot rod, possibly of 1930's Ford origin, captured 8/10/13, at an annual car show not far from home.
You find all kinds of stuff at some of these auto shows.
If you don't know the meaning of 666, then you have to do movie watching and/or book reading of a darker nature.
Maybe someone out there knows the actual year and model of this road runner.
The owner of this vehicle is a chap named Faust.
And, one would think that Satan would be more selective in his mode of transportation.
Cheerybye, and have simpatico day.

It's a beauty of a car, and while I don't find his theme much to my taste it's still a marvelous capture, certainly one to be proud of, showing all the lovely classic lines and that wild air-conditioned windshield! Great work, Harry!

With those tyre shredder hubs it looks like a cross between a Bond car and the Batmobile. Not really suitable for picking up your 'gal' for the Church Social, but a HELL! of a set of wheels...thanks Harry.

Nice work on this VERY wild capture, Harry. That is one car I'd never feel comfortable riding in.

You really did an outstanding job at capturing this.

A lot of people have mixed feeling on rat rods versus real show cars (not that these aren't in their own right), but rat rods really allow the individual to try something different without the need to make it completely perfect. But sometimes the beauty of a car can be best when left in such a raw form without the perfect fit and finish. Wonderful find and photo!

lol on your commentary. A Faustian old beauty, and I see that at least one person might know its origins. A really fun shot, and---before talking about the car---I can't help but see your composition once again: The lines of the barber shop in the background (or the store with the pole) line-up with the hood of the car; the chome-like thing directly behind the hood (it looks like a rail or a long boat) harmonizes with the line of the car, the roof of the car falls perfectly under the lines of the awning behind it, the back wheel is lined-up with the man on the sidewalk, etc. Small details perhaps, but all elements of an innate compositional eye. As for the car, I'd think this a tough car to shoot, because it's long, it's shiny but not too, you want to capture the wheel-details (which you did), and get some of that fascinating interior (which you did)---including a harmony between the lines of the seats and what looks like an American flag in the back seat! Love the angle too---but that's something we've come to expect from you, as you know the best angles for whatever car you capture. And you got about as much of the car in one shot as you could---you showcased the thing beautifully, in other words. Cars like these remind me of "Bonnie and Clyde" or some gangsters rambling from town to town, ruffing up banks. Earlier this year, I purchased a pair of "spectator" shoes (before "The Great Gatsby" came out and made them popular). The name "spectator" probably refers to upper class spectators at Polo matches (Trust me, I haven't been to a lotta polo matches!) Anyway, I didn't realize, until I tried them on, that I looked like a 30s gangster in them, who should be driving one of these cars! A shot of them is here---I'm sure you'd agree. If I get up the nerve, I'll photograph myself wearing them, and post it saying I've joined the 30s mob. (I'm in the right city for it!) They'd fit this car perfectly... Anyway, another gem in your wonderful car series, Harry. Very smartly captured.
