Description

Thought I would actually assigning a title rather than numbers I feel it makes the imagery more meaningful. Bob's Magic - so this is where you distil your potions...the title is very descriptive. The palette is lovely. I like titles too - they are the start of the story:-)

First of all let me say this is very cool work as always, Bob. I really like the way this one seems to flow. Also I agree with your thoughts on a title making the art you create more meaningful.

You call this "The Still". ("Still," here---as you may know----is a shortened form of "distill".) I can see the Still-like shapes: It's as if we're looking at several beakers and vases of varying shapes. They're even lined up on the right, one bulge after the next. But the image also suggests the liquids within those beakers, bubbling up, swirling around each other, reflecting and rejecting light, etc. There's an interior feel to parts of it, while an exterior feel to the rest. Lots of alteration between large empty surfaces, and tight constrained surfaces---with lots of reflections to articulate both. I love the bulges on the right, and the purplish and muddy green tones that they reflect. A fascinating abstract of bubbling glass and liquid forms; and, like all your Bryce pieces, it's flowing, sensuous and alive, and always suggestive of natural phenomena. Those pinks against those greens are striking contrasts.
