Description

I am not a bird photographer, but this one kept still enough for long enough for me to gather the furkid leads into one hand and rest Tizzy on the fence on full zoom. So I am pleased in the circumstances with what is after all a record shot. Coy Pond Bournemouth

Congratulations on managing all that at one time! I do think Denise will like this one. :D (I do too, of course, but I'll never see another heron in my life without thinking of Denise.)

Startling composition, focus, contrast, and texture in this sterling pic, shot from afar. From heron out you're to be considered a master avian fotographer, Andrea.

I know that Denise will love this shot as well. Know her luck with getting a shot of the blasted bird....LOL Wonderful capture in spite of all your handicaps at the time

A straight-on shot standing on one leg is not very common, and I am kind of imagining you on one leg, camera on the fence at full zoom, using the other leg to control half a dozen dogs on leashes, all wanting to go in different directions...and you are apologizing for the shot? I think next time you should do it with a monopod and leashes in both hands, and in high heels!

And a fantastic capture. They are magnificent birds and you did this Heron justice especially with the 'furkids' pulling you along! The thought of the dogs, leads, Tizzy, the fence and this great results made me laugh!!!! :)

I missed some good posts for 2013, this Heron is a fine capture, amazing bird... they can spot a fish like lightning. In past summers here I have spotted them along the river.
