We appear at the top of some steps, they lead down into another hallway. I turn around and see yet another hallway, it looks identical to the many we have already traveled. Titan and Bit are not their usual selves, losing Hayden is hitting them hard. I'm sure they blame me but deep down they have to understand it was the only option, she was dying. Now I'm not saying that making a deal with a demon was a wise decision its just that it was the only option that presented itself...literally. The dark child appeared and offered to save her life in exchange for me retrieving a book for him. He gave me only seconds to accept his offer and with her life hanging in the balance I accepted. To be honest I would do it again, what I didn't expect though was for him to take Hayden and hold her prisoner while I find the book. He said she would be returned to me unharmed so I have no time to waste, I need to get Hayden back as quickly as possible. I know nothing of this book, all I can assume is that I will know when I find it. It's no secret that their are books in this world that contain great power so the fact that the dark child wants it is probably a bad thing but he already seems to be very powerful so what could he really gain from a single book? Who am I kidding? It's probably best if I don't think about it. My gut tells me down the stairs is the direction I want to go, however as a take the first step the door frame at the bottom begins to glow an eerie red from ancient runes surrounding the entryway. I bet these are the wards that prevent the dark child from going any further, and if they are strong enough to keep him out it more than worries me what lies on the other side. I finish descending the stairs and can sense Titan is right behind me, I think Bit opted to remain at the top. It's interesting how alike yet different they are. I cautiously move to the right of the entryway while Titan moves to the left. We both begin to peek into the entry way, I don't see any immediate threats. The hall is dark and looks to have rocks of various sizes laying about, maybe the ceiling collapsed at some point. I look at Titan and see he is looking right back. "What do you think?" I whisper. "Do you see anything?" He shakes his head no. "We need to move quick, stay alert and find a place to hide if we find trouble." This time he nods. I look back towards Bit to signal him over but to my surprise I find he is already at my side, he is a stealthy little guy. I cross the threshold staying as close to the frame as I can, the minions mimic me and do the same. So far so good, we slowly advance down the hall and just when I think we are clear I catch some movement out of the corner of my eye. I spin my head in that direction, the rocks begin vibrating violently while others begin sliding towards each other. I don't know what to think or expect, soon the rocks begin rising into the air and horror sets in, I think I know what's happening. "RUN!" Rocks begin slamming together, it's deafening, with each collision it feels as though the walls are going to come down all around us. The flying rocks are lethal, it's far to dangerous to run out right and is taking all my concentration to avoid being hit. Within minutes what I feared was happening was confirmed, there was no question...a golem was forming. "Titan, get that door open!" I point to a set of double doors at the far end of the hall, hopefully we can get out before the massive monster realizes what's happening. I begin rushing towards the minions and see immediately the door is not budging it must be magically sealed. "Damn."
