My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

Nice shot! I always thought the peeling bark looked a little creepy, probably because you don't see that around here.

It looks so powerful in your photo. It's a good job we humans don't exfoliate in such a grand style, it would make shopping even more unpleasant! Imagine great sheets of stranger skin blowing about in town.

You say madrona; I say madrone--either way it's beautiful and I love it!!

That's what happens when you spend too much time in the sun. Also known as the Refrigerator Tree. And its all ours, from the Canadian border south to Los Angeles. A wonderful clear capture of it in mid-molt.

Fascinating how this bark is so thin and paper-like on these trees - never seen anything like this before. Great shot of this amazing tree, Tara!

I wouldn't mind peeling like this if I had that super-smooth fine-grained skin afterward...beautiful capture!
