Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

A splendid 'Darby and Joan' shot Andrea.

That is sad to hear that the younger generation does not hold hands when they are married. Superb capture Andrea. God bless.

The weather looks lovely.

Poignant pic of the older couple negotiating the promenade, Andrea. She has a rather unique walking style bent over like that, making her appear years older than her male companion, who strides along, straight and tall.

I know how it is. I hate it when i with people and they on the phone all the time or texting people. i there to talk to them and they do not have the friendliness to talk to me. something is wrong

A lovely image and, yes, there is only one shadow. There is a cartoon showing a young couple sitting across the breakfast table and talking to each other. On their cell phones. I like the Flicker image. I think it suggests how the younger generation see our lot, semi-invisible.

I like seeing people holding hands and enjoying each other and their surroundings. Bill and I hold hands a lot, despite the fact that we both have phones! :P

The lady has a strange way of walking with her arm behind her perhaps she has a bad back. I agree on smart phones after watching a young lady walk straight out into a busy road without even looking up from her texting, they should have a health warning on them.

such a lovely pic !...smartphones are the badest invention of this era

Smart phones are okay, how they are used by the younger generation is quite another matter. They seem to be unable to use it as a tool but are instead allowing themselves to be controlled by the phone and its apps. It is just another drug for them.
