Description

I thought I'd show you a few pictures of the fireworks I took back on July 4 before the holiday rolls around again. Taken from the balcony of my friend's place which sits in a neighborhood of multi-million dollar homes. Shortly before the show began a neighbor threw an M-80 from his balcony, aiming for an access road below. It fell short and exploded in the dry brush which caught fire and quickly spread. So we all rushed down to put out the fire and managed to get back before the fireworks started although my friend spent some time thinking of gruesome ways to do away with his idiot neighbor. Just more hilarity added to a festive evening. Money and brains do not necessarily go together. The lights in the foreground belong to the Southern California Edison Company and are part of an electrical generating plant.

The fireworks looks like a palm tree. Beautiful night capture. And Mark, here there are also those oxen. However, with their homemade things where nobody knows assess what they can do.

Great shot! As for your neighbor, that's why it is illegal for individuals to fire off fireworks here. Common sense just isn't very common anymore.

Great ambience with front row views ... how interesting, two different types of light-works to see here, for the price of one. ;) and not to forget the street with the car head & tail lights, BB

What a marvelous shot this is! I love the division of space, with the power plant and the road and the dark bits with the city in the background. That must be some view in the daytime! Aside from all that, it's a technically good image. Exposure time and all that ... just right!

Very impressive capture. Your timing was perfect. Yes, money does not equate to intelligence or common sense...LOL!
