Description
Over 2500 years ago an Indian prince named Siddhartha Gautama sat and meditated under a ficus tree and became enlightened. From that time forward he was known as The Buddha or Enlightened One.
We here in California also have ficus trees. There is a grove of Banyan Trees not far from my home. They form a wonderful cooling canopy during the heat of the day. There are benches along the path where one may sit and rest. Take some time to meditate upon the beauty of nature. Or listen to the sound of your own breathing. Perhaps you too will attain enlightenment.

Brilliant! Most inspiring and beautful! I have to say that when I have a lung infection, listening to what passes for breathing could cause mass panic-attacks in normally stoic individuals.

We also have those magnificent and majestic looking Ficus trees in OZ, usually with most of their root system above ground, and I am familiar with Banyan trees - it's definitely a wonderful canopy to meditate under, they be can be up to 400 years old, found in India ... (I am just not quite sure about the post work on those god rays) ;P BB

Nature's cathedral! A symphony of form and light. I love this! It is really superb. The light coming through is so beautifully captured. There are lovely patterns of light and shadow on the trees. The combination of the light and the lines of the trees is breathtaking. The small arched opening with two people entering adds to the magic. It feels like they are entering a spiritual realm. This is a beautiful and inspiring capture and your words go with it wonderfully.
