Description

All of you probably remember where you were when it happened. I was working as a newspaper reporter, and was on my way to do the police beat. When I got to the station, the police and fired department was outside waving to me. I did not have the radio on, so I thought some big crime just happened in out little village. No. I got there just in time to see the second plane crash into the Trade Towers. None of us believed it. At first I though they were watching a movie. No one could believe what was happening. But it did. Here on our soil. May of us thought we were at war, and we were. Against terrorism. We still are, Now in Syria they have used poisonous gas. We must stand up against these horrors. I go to bed tonight with sad memories of a lost innocence, before 9-11. Lost lives. We will never forget.

You are right. No citizen of this country that was alive and functional at that time will ever forget.

boy, where was she when we needed her?! perhaps, you know, but just in case you don't: i used to live across the street from the WTC. in fact, i was one of the pioneers in that part of the city...the view from my bedroom was the towers and i spent much time in them...i never cared for the buildings--thought they were ugly--and always felt they stuck out like sore thumbs, which of course made them perfect targets for the terrorists...it took me over 7 years before i could go back there, and that was only because i had to for business...i was going to go down there today, but the weather was just too oppressive for me...i will go soon and take some photos to share in the gallery...

You're words are daunting, yet hit home, and are very real, for you.. and for thousands out there. I can't believe it was so many years ago, as it feels like just yesterday. I normally can't remember what I had for breakfast the previous day, though I will never forget where I was on that exact day, at that exact moment... with TV/radio interjections. Thank you for the tribute, and heightening the awareness and memories.... it's important to remember.

will never forget the day or where i was at Sherrie. was watching a snowy tv at work just after the first plane hit, the reception was bad. then later we saw a huge blast, and heard a second plane had hit the other tower, i recall the announcer saying, this is no longer a accident, this is terrorisim. i cried all that day and was in fear of something going to happen in colorado where cheyenne mtn is. work stopped for a long time at my job, everyone was in shock.

A beautiful dedication, Sherrie - I well remember that dark day.. I was on my way to work, listening to it on the radio. It still doesn't seem real. I also remember well the day we finally found the pathetic piece of filth that orchestrated that cowardly attack, and put a bullet in his head. God Bless America! Having just toured one of the iconic American sites - Mt. Rushmore, this day has even more meaning for me.
