I suppose the title sounds creepy lol, but your vision of it is quite inviting. Like communing with other worlds and hearing its distant musics...("lullaby," like the root "lull," is meant to soothe us and bring us rest: This piece does that despite the creepy connotation of 'necromancers'...) (Btw, I'm a font of WAY too much information re word roots; and if you get tired of them, just ignore them! I sometimes think I should get rehab, though it probably wouldn't help.) Ok, this is a wide piece, but it has a definite vertical feel. Long high 'stalks' dominate on both sides; and the swirls on both sides seem to bolster those verticals. It feels to me like walking into a deep forest of the mind. There's a heart-red hue everywhere, and deep interior shadows...and you have some beautiful eerie pinks here, as well as full purples; with a beautiful peach-amber on the bottom (left of center). These moments---where a new color 'appears'---can be some of the finest climactic points in your Bryce work. This also feels like an inner chamber with curtains draped about. This turns communing with the dead into a deep inner song. And it feels private and very warm---in part because of those rich reds and crimsons. And the swath of bright red---on top---feels like light from a higher source, filtering down. An "inside the heart" vision, it's warm, mysterious, eerie, and quite beautiful. Beautiful inward work once more, Bob. I love your abstract pieces. Well, I've been at this for almost 2 hours and unfortunately I have to stop even though I only did 4 images tonight (and 4 last night too). Sorry! iBut I find myself spending a lot of time on each; and I think I'm commenting on lots of your images at once. Anyway, I want to come back here before the next few weeks are up; I'll sure as hell try. But I got a great dousing in your inner eye, your staunch artistic discipline, your sense of deep imagination, and of total play, of your love for communicating through images, and a lot more as well. Your visual background shows in all these pieces---Bryce as well as Poser---and I respect that greatly. Wonderful work, Bob. I hope all's well in your life, I'm glad to read that you'd traveled to the continent; and I wish a wonderful holiday to you and your loved ones, and a wonderful 2014. I hope to leave more comments before the year comes...
