Description

Volume II - Episode 28 Where: Cologne, Germany When: 1 month and 5 days after E-Day, 10:49 am Klaudia sat bolt-upright. Was that a gunshot? She climbed out of bed and hobbled over to the locked door of her hospital room. Her plaster-encased foot hurt like hell, but she ignored the pain. She peered through the small window set into the door. Two soldiers ran past, then another. She hammered her hands against the door to get their attention. "Hey! Hey, what's going on?" One of the soldiers stopped to check the door to her room was still firmly locked. Satisfied that it was, he continued on his way down the corridor. Klaudia pressed her ear to the door, trying to hear what was going on outside. She heard what sounded like fighting, and the faint sounds of an argument, the crash of pots and pans hitting the floor, and then silence. She returned to her bed, her curiosity unsatisfied. She hated being couped up in this room, after all that time being locked up in Krystal's apartment. She wanted to know what was going on. She wanted to know what had become of the American couple. She wanted to know what the Hexenjägern planned to do with her. Her only chance of finding the answers to these questions was Lieutenant Monika Bieke, the tough but amiable nurse she hadn't seen since early morning. Klaudia drew the blanket around her naked shoulders and waited.
