if I had, I would have taken it down (I had a tag for it) one of my friends was stalked by a cougar when he was 'calling' the cows

got to watch out for them big cats. read how Davy Crockett had to fight one with his knife. He did not have time for his gun as it was on him in no time. I read it in his diary he wrote which I got from the library. The book even got his misspelled words in it. really good book

So what you are saying is the cougars scared the elk out of you? I think its pretty clear you were not welcome there.

COOL! We saw a couple of mountain lions while on vacation - in an animal preserve. It's a place for animals that can't survive on their own in the wild due to various injuries. It was cool seeing those cats for real. Up until them I had seen only pictures and videos of them. They used to roam the wilds out east here long ago. They saw the eastern mountain lion is extinct. And yet, no one can explain the occasional sightings or how it is a 180 deer carcass ends up 20 feet up in a tree.
