Description

Several years ago FredNunes became known here on Renderosity for his pictures of curves, and scenes like this have become forever linked in my mind with his photographs of that time. I love being inspired to try something outside my usual style, so this is for Fred, in appreciation for encouraging me to see things in a different way. I hope you enjoy this part of Highway 26 in Oregon, my friend. It's known as the Sunset Highway, and it bisects the Coastal Range.

I was sitting here trying to work out why this is uncomfortable to look at. Then, eureka! I am on the wrong side of the road about to be killed by an oncoming vehicle !

The curve is a nice one, but the fog is what makes this image special IMHO. And, yes, exposure to new ideas & new ways of looking at things are among the major benefits of the photography community here...

I am honored. You have not only caught a great curve here... but the fog and mood are incredible. Thank you! :-)

Love seeing your pictures along our path...a lot of the time I am focused on the road and oncoming traffic rather than the beauty of our surroundings. Fine composition and postwork...ahhhh:)

I love places like that. There is a place in Germany that came right to mind when I saw this photo. This is really nice.

A lovely, and "curvy" photo, Tara! This has a wonderful mood - it reminds me of a similar shot I took near St. Louis years ago.

One of my favorite parts of visiting Washington was driving roads like this. Dark green trees, overcast sky, just a hint of fog and an open road. Wonderful mood. Great capture.

This could be Hwy 101 just north of me; I know that road like the back of my hand!

This image personifies the Pacific Northwest. I remember traveling roads just like this many times. Driving through corridors of evergreens with the mists swirling around or beams of light shafting toward the road, but usually the former. This is a beautiful capture of the mood those roads bring to my mind. Thanks for sharing. :)
