Description
Could anyone tell me what this plant is please? I thought it was of the nettle family, but it doesn't sting. It is about 2' high with a spread of 18" The flowers are funny - just the one flat blob with a small blob holding the big flat blob on to the stalk. The colour is an intense yellow. I didn't plant it so it must be self sown. I do have stinging nettles close by in a wild area of garden. I haven't removed it for I like it, but I'd be grateful if you could give it a name...(no not Emily or Sam etc..) heh heh.

That's a new one for me too! Quite an eye catching bloom though. Do they open later maybe, or is that it? How does it get pollinated I wonder?

It's new to me too! I have the same questions as Kevin, will they open up, and what will the seed heads look like? I notice the calyx has three bracts. The Collins complete guide has failed me, will do more research!

Thankyou! I appreciate your help..... I'll go outside and take more pics. I will pick a flower and take a pic and take a better close up of what I think may be a seed case
