Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

They all look dog tired. Its a wonder you get any sleep Andrea.

I basically live in a compound with seven rescues, two and a half of which are mine. But at bedtime any combination of the seven are there, creating this scene. It is so fulfilling to find dogs (who I think are by far the best people) in a hopeless situation, and to give them a life of comfort and love, a life with no more fear. In the years of following your posts I have seen that you do exactly that. You have no idea how much respect and admiration I have for what you do!

They love your bed. A superb capture.

A charming capture when it's time for bed they know where to go, saves on hot water bottles or electric blankets.:-)

I see Rosie want the part of Lawrence of Arabia.

These bedmates are all prepared for a good night's sleep, that's for sure. Probably had a cup of hot cocoa right before climbing aboard. Super pic of the drowsy canine corps, Andrea. Is that Fritz engulfed in the towel?

Wonderful capture of these three

Sweet dreams little ones, hugs to you all.

I love Rosie's djellaba! Nice of them to allow you to share their bed, I have a similar situation with just one dog and one of my three cats, and getting them to allow me in can be tricky.

A very warm scene, especially with Rosie playing the part of the babe in swaddling. I suppose they are used to it by now but I wonder if there was a time when they saw you coming and wondered "And where are you going to sleep?"

This looks so very cute and adorable, Andrea. I first thought Rosie is ill, catches a cold, or something. What a beautiful blanket you have on your bed.

This is a very touching photo for me Andrea. I always slept with a dog until I graduated high school and moved out of my parents house. I will try and find an old photo of Dusty for you!
