Description

Old glass bottles from the wreck of the Steamboat Arabia (sunk in 1856) provided a very colorful display... Bottle makers were quite the artists in the 1800s. Taken in May 2013 in Kansas City.

Wonderful capture now all they care about is the content - not the art

I have spent several minutes entranced by this: the play of light and the layers of translucency are endlessly intriguing .

I was going to say you will be hearing from Andrea, and there it is already, just her cup of tea I think! Well, it is the cup of tea for lots of us, a very nice shot Bill.

Excellent Bill. How was this lit? I can see a light source behind and to the side there. Was it a strobe or daylight?

I just love old bottles - indeed they were works of art themselves. You've got a gorgeous shot here, Bill! I have GOT to get over there sometime....

Lots of stark lighting contrast in this shot of the bizarre bottles, Bill. There are two at the bottom right that resemble hand grenades.

These bits and pieces were just as beautiful as the whole bottles, perhaps even moreso. I love this shot!

What a fantastic POV/compo here, and the lighting is perfect to show off the little quirky design details. Very artistic and lovely shot, Bill!
