Description
This is a photo of Dillon Reservoir and The Continental Divide here in Colorado. This reservoir is a major water supply for the City of Denver. This lake is on the West side of the Continental Divide. If You look closely just above the lake in the left center of this photo You might be able to see just above the trees on an incline, Interstate 70, which runs up and under the Continental Divide through the Eisenhower Tunnels. Thank You for stopping by.

A seemingly endless view of this amazing mountain range and lake - indeed, it appears like an old oil painting - marvellous presentation Bob, BB

Great capture Bob, makes me want to go and visit. You mentioned the reservoir is on the westside of the Continental Divide. Are they pumping the water via a tunnel to Denver? Do you know the operators of the reservoir? I heard a group of Canadian lawyers were trying to buy the waterrights to the Baca Float north of Monte Vista and transport the water to Denver. That would leave the ranchers in the San Louis Valley (I think) high and dry. In any case a beautiful scene!
