Description

A closer look at the Cape Blanco lighthouse. As with my previous post, I brought in a new sky to replace the cloudless one in the original photo, but this time played with Photoshop's blending options to create an illusion of transparency...

Fascinating. Now that's something I'll have to try. Superb result. Did you walk to the top?

Yes, we walked to the very top & my next two posts will be looking down at the spiral staircase & a closeup shot of the lamp itself through the Fresnel lens.

Nice shot! Almost does not look real! I see the blending! At first I though it was painted on the building until a closer look and reading what you said.

Interesting! It might be a bit more effective with more cloud above as well and with the lighthouse made a bit lighter. Just a thought.

I considered that, but was going for a more subtle effect.

Great effect. It does look at first like someone painted a scene onto the lighthouse. I think I would have skipped the effect on the trees on right and maybe even extended the vision a bit to include a few more trees for balance. A fine job of blending the sky and I think just the right amount of clearing too.

That manipulation looks very interesting against the light house!

I thought the transparancy was a reflection off the water and a red sunset.

I really like what you did your claude! Just for grins I might have tried a second layer with sunset clouds different from the ones on the lighthouse to see how that would look. I think it would work!

Amazing how you tinted part of your sky on the walls of the bottom part of the lighthouse. A lovely image!
