Description

Okay, so I'm wandering around the Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota, taking a few pictures. As I'm shooting, I see a stunning dark-haired girl walking up to the donation box with a dollar bill in her hand. I press the shutter button, and capture an image just as she looks up at me. "Uh-Oh.......Busted!" I think to myself. As I take the camera away from my eye, I see that she is not offended; on the contrary she seems quite pleased. She gives me a sweet smile, then her eyes opened wide, as we both recognized each other. To my utter amazement and delight it's none other than the beautiful Robotoko! As the other tourists watch with some amusement, she runs over and gives me a big hug! "How are you, RodS? I'm so delighted to see you! I still remember that time we danced together - it was so much fun!" "It was fun, but you are by far the better dancer" I say to her. "So what brings you to South Dakota? Are you taking a little vacation too?" "Actually, my intelligence network indicated that there would be some other girls coming to this area; some cool girls I've always wanted to meet. They are among my biggest heroes, and I hoped maybe our paths would cross," she told me. "Then I heard that maybe they had run into some trouble, and several more of my heroes were on their way to assist. I hope to get there in time to help out as well, and to be able to meet all of them!" We visited for a few minutes, then she told me she had to go outside to meet another friend who was also on the way. This friend was somebody she had been emailing with for a few months, but had never met in person - another young lady she'd always wanted to meet. A young lady named Sam. "We are supposed to meet in front of a souvenir shop just down the street. Why don't you come with me - I'm sure Sam would love to meet you, too," she said. How could I possibly refuse? I hope you are enjoying this little side story that Dan (diemamker) and I are playing with. I hope to have the next panel up in a couple of days. I'm back on dayshift now, for the next four weeks. The only bad part about that is that after this four weeks I'll be back on the dreaded zombie shift again. Robotoko is an original character created by Rhanagaz (Johnny C). Thanks, Johnny for letting your lovely lady join the fun! Be sure to drop by Johnny's gallery for some absolutely delightful artwork, and beautiful photos! Photo of the inside of Corn Palace, and composite by me. As always, thank you so much for dropping by, and all your comments and support! It really brightens my day, as does your own wonderful artwork!

I just sit here and hear myself say "Wow" over and over again. You are truely the master of integration. Her reflection, shadow on the floor is exquisite, I can only imagine it was done by deleting a real person who was there and putting in Robotica, but knowing you it is equaly likely that you did the shadows yourself. Sadly it speaks of midwestern America that Robotica is in the best shape of all the people in the room. I also wonder why you even took this shot in the first place, it is something I would never, ever do.

Your second guess is the correct one, Roxy! :-D I added the shadows... Photoshop is my good friend! As to why I took the photo in the first place... A good friend once commented that she wondered sometimes if I didn't have backgrounds in mind when I took some of my shots. She (wonder who it was...LOL) was right! :-D

Well Rod, I have to quote Roxy because I think she said it best .... "I just sit here and hear myself say "Wow" over and over again. You are truely the master of integration. Her reflection, shadow on the floor is exquisite". That bill looks like a larger denomination than a one though. Seems this little lady is quite generous with her cyber money, LOL. Interesting story thus far. I wonder who this other girl is that she is planning to me. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Have to wait and see I guess. :-)

ROTFL, I have to look at Johnny's post before I connect the two images together. That was a really funny one. Your stories just made my day--- top-notch in story-telling. As always, the 3D character and the background were blended so seamlessly.

Rod, this is really fun! I love photo composits when done well, as you have done here! Nice job with the lighting, which is the most difficult part. I use the photo as a background just to get the lighting right. Then I use it on a plane in order to get the pesky antialiasing in Photoshop to match the background colors. Keep up the good work! :-)
