Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

This is a great photographic abstraction and the post work enhances this even further. It shows a wonderfully creative eye to spot the potential of a photographic abstract even before any post work is undertaken. It's amazing just how things can take on a whole new visual experience, it's how we look and think of things that are familiar to us that can detract from finding moments like this, often once something has been identified to us through our eye's our brains process this and the identity of an object or whatever is set in stone, when you take away aspects of it's easy identification we can begin to explore new and exciting possibilities in abstraction from things that would quite often be potentially mundane on the eye.

Oxidation taken to new heights in this magnificent display of mottled colors, performed in your own digifiddling way, A.

Oooohh! I like 'em both. Lovely bit of rust, and your abstract composition is quite satisfying.

What a great find---tons of textures and colors!!

I love it. You do non-Fractal Fractals better than anyone. The original would make a great Halloween image. That is definitely a skull's face.

Great abstract although I would never have guessed that it was.
