Description
I have more coastal photos to post, but I thought I would post this photo that I took today first.
I'm a member of the Applegate Community Grange, which is a chapter of a national organization that promotes agriculture & rural communities. A group of us were doing kitchen prep work for an annual Harvest Brunch we are having on Sunday - which consisted mainly of cutting up many pounds of potatoes, onions, peppers, pumpkins, etc. Our chef discovered this orb weaver spider (one of the most common spiders in the world - there are thousands of species of orb weavers) in the kitchen & was escorting him outside, but I asked her to let me take a few photos before she released him. She held him up on this leaf in midair while I shot this macro...
Please zoom.

Looks like he is trying to hide his face from the paparazzi. A nice shot of the little guy.

Lots of them around right now; great capture of this misplaced creature!

The fact that you and your friend escorted her outside instead of stepping on her or otherwise killing her, speaks highly of all of you! I'm sure that if she could, she would thank you for your kindness. That being said, this is a great macro
