Despite her seeming unsuitability and lack of diplomacy, it was she who was selected to take up the Wonder Woman mantle when Princess Diana was deemed unworthy of the title. Artemis wore the armor until her death at the hands of the White Magician. After her death, Artemis resided in the underworld, where one of the 13 Princes of Hades took her as slave and bride. After being rescued by Diana, Artemis joined the Hellenders and dedicated herself to ridding the world of demons.
