Description

This one's for Richard (Richardphotos) who posted a picture today of a power station and beat me to it :) The Aire & Calder navigation with Kellingley Colliery and behind it Ferrybridge Coal fired power station (2000MWatts) One of three power stations in the area,Eggborough (2000MW) and Drax (4000MW) and was and maybe still is the largest Coal fired power station in Europe. I also caught a train and some trucks so this could equally well go under transportation :) Thanks for all your lovely comments on my previous postings and thanks for stopping by to take a look at this. Rob P.S. and now you know how clouds are made ;)

Those big fat stacks must be the European version of a cooling tower to regulate the water temperature and pressure of the plant. we are very very dirty and there are better solutions. Not just wind and solar. There is Thorium. Google it...

I see you was considerable distance also away. I think I was closer. this is huge. I have not seen any of the huge coal plants back east in the US. there is one Atomic power plant in a near -by town. the ones in Dallas area, I have no idea what they use for combustion, but I figure natural gas thanks for the dedication and a superb capture

LOL about your clouds-explanation, Rob. Again you could show us so much different and interesting objects on your upload. The mood is also very special to me, as it reminds me of the many coal mines, which until 1965 were here in business.
