Hi Folks! This year’s countdown features slightly updated versions of favorite images since the series started in 2000.
Here is my favorite for Number 7: 7 Skulls a' Screaming
This frequent entry in the countdowns was originally inspired by the many stories in British and American folklore about residences that are supposedly haunted by screaming skulls, such as the one at Bettiscombe Manor in the UK. But by 2003 the images began to symbolize the misery that haunts the living: warfare, political and/or religious repression, man-made catastrophes, and diseases in epidemic proportions.
