Hi Folks! This year's countdown features slightly updated versions of favorite images since the series started in 2000.
Here is my favorite for Number 8: 8 Legs a' Lurching
For many years, #8 in the countdown drew its inspiration from all those awful movies about little critters that became big monsters after exposure to atomic or chemical wastes. In the Masters of Monsters (2009) edition, #8 was inspired by the horror stories of H.P. Lovecraft; specifically, The Dunwich Horror. The scene recalls the moment when professors at Miskatonic University discover Wilbur Whateley's failed attempt to steal from the library a copy of The Necronomicon, an arcane and blasphemous manual of sorcery. Not exactly legs, but . . .
