My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

I like the soft, subtle color tones - it fits the subject matter. As does the composition & careful balance of light & shadow. Outstanding. And now I need to go check out Bill's version...

Sounds like me now that I am retired. As soon as I saw this I knew it must be Bodie. The atmosphere is very fitting for a ghost town. Excellent work.

It is a very great shot under every kind of consideration!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really very fascinating to compare your image and Bill's! Your colour version engages me with the long gone occupants, whereas the mono one for some reason does not. Both are excellent but so different.

Aha, time for duelling photos...I will probably like both of them equally!

Intriguing and a super shot Tara.

OH Yes, what a difference from Bill´s Photo. Here it looks more gently, but I still get the same feeling, when I see it. Abandoned in a hurry. You got such a lovely light in this and it seems, it once has been a really cozy little home :)

Belle composition une atmosphère qui nous replonge dans le siècle dernier.

This is an impressive shot. :-)

It's amazing how a colour version and a monochrome version of the scene create such different feelings in the eye of the beholder, wonderfully taken and thank you both for the different perspectives

Super capture!! Seems to me as they left in a hurry.

This is a great shot and it is very cool but it doesn't present the edginess that Bill's photo has Great capture

Cool setting and lighting....

This has a very haunting feel, Tara - most appropriate for the season.. One definitely gets the feel of a story left untold.. What happened that resulted in the table setting to be left in place? The viewer is left to imagine and make up his/her own story. I love stuff like this! Now to check out Bill's version....

Really nice homey and nostalgic.....just a little dusty smile Fine composition!!

Nicely seen and a great shot.

Sad and ghostly, indeed; if it weren't for the dust everywhere (and boy, is that ever thick!) it would seem they'd just stepped out after breakfast. Amazing to see these old relics left just the way they were. Gives me all kinds of weird feelings to think of someone looking at my leavings a few hundred years on! Great work, Tara!

What a superb mood, light, shadow and earth-tones are to admire here, Tara. A good feeling it brings along.

In thiscase I like more the soft color and use of light in yours! stunning to see two variations!

Great atmosphere

Yours has a much softer look than Bill's. The light is caressing the scene and drawing a gentle veil over the harsher aspects. There is a melancholy, but it is a melancholy of things lost without the sinister undertones. I find the way the lamp looks in the two shots very interesting. Bill's seems to hover, the attachment lost in shadows. Yours is a part of the room, and brings thoughts to me of it casting a friendly light, in better times. Your capture makes me think of the family, or couple who lived here. I wonder about them and their life, as much as I wonder about their hasty departure. I like the light coming through the crack on the inside of the cabinet door and the gentle variation of color. Beautiful capture. It's very interesting to see the differences between the two shots.
