UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

I just saw Tara's version of this - you both have an excellent eye for composition. I think it's most interesting - and fun - that this time it was you who got the close-up, and Tara got the larger view.. A great shot, Bill! I'll bet that chair could tell a really sad tale if it could talk.

Very cool shot Bill. I'll be looking at Tara's next I would think that a weekend of TLC and this chair will be ready for the firepit.

Great shot Bill. Tara is right, same chair different picture, but both of you managed to show the desolation and the hint of better times in the past!
jocko500

I think Tara wins this time because of the skyline in hers (though I said water), ha ha! By the way, did you check to see if any coins had fallen in the back cushion?

This isn't really my kind of picture Wayne...but it was such a strange site I couldn't resist fiddling with it.

This would make a great book jacket!

Nice effect with the dry brush. Sad that people leave such things abandoned to litter the landscape, but it makes an interesting photo. :) Thanks for sharing your talent.

LOL@ Jeff. In a similar way I wonder if King Canute left it there, surely he didn't stand for all that time trying to force the sea back :) You know this would have made one kick ass HDR Bill.

I like what you did with this, postwork-wise. It adds to the mood of the place. And I like seeing everyone's comments ... it seems as if this is one of those images that is so good ... composition/subject matter ... that any treatment you give it would produce an excellent result. Good stuff!

Great find out there on the banks of the Salton Sea, Bill. I wonder if I look that antiquated.
