Description

I really have no idea where they were coming from crossing the clearing in the campus. It was quite a cool day for such outfits. A riddle I leave for you to crack....

A great picture! I think that they are maybe off on a wedding dress photo shoot: our students often appear down at a pretty place in the public gardens to do exactly that.' Lets hope neither of them is posing as Ophelia.

This ain't no Yellow Brick Road - Toto !!! It's really an easy one to crack - two young brides left standing at the altar, the two grooms never showed ! ;(( or maybe they were modelling at a fashion parade ? ;)) Why don't you pin it on a notice board in some hallway Nikolay ? ;P Good luck! ;)) BB

Great find and puzzling shot; there are so many little clues that don't make sense in it! Well done!

Whatever they were and/or will be doing, I hope they had a great time! I can't think of anything but good-time reasons to wear those dresses at that age. :) A terrific shot.

you got some great responses, and ana made me laugh when she said the boy must be the 'precious' little brother...Well they could've come from a play they were in, or a ceremony, or are going to one...the two women are wearing very complex 19th-Century-looking dresses, typical of a wedding or some other ceremony---actually the left-most woman is carrying her dress and wearing the undergarment, including a corset (!!!)---that crazy thing women were expected to wear for many generations to make their figures "hour-glass-like". (Some historians believe that tight corsets led to serious health problems for some women, in some cases resulting in damaged child-birth and even death. They were serious problems.) Corsets now are used for fun, and I guess if you're wearing one, you'd rather not have all that "excess fabric" around you as well---so she took off the dress. A great capture of those two women. (They even have on what looks like 19th C shoes with stockings.) And then---the boy, in a simple parka or something like it. And DARK, next to the women's whites...a great juxtaposition, something I've tried to do in my people photography, and which I've only begun to do, because it eluded me for so long. But you do it with the ease of a master, and the large field, and background trees, are all they need to set them off. Masterful, a lot of fun, and elaborate. And what's also fun is that none of them has their foot on the 'path'! They're walking to each side of it. Wonderful.
