Interesting observation; takes a bit to understand the reality.

Oh yes. :) I like this VERY much! You know how fond I am of reflections, and this is fabulous. So shiny, and three realities (perhaps more!) all in one fell swoop. Wonderful!

Mind blowing, Nikolai. She looks like a store mannequin being watched by the girl with her back to the camera. I agree with Tara, several realities, which one is real?

A busy scene, which makes this composition so very interesting - a wicked result, Nikolay, it adds another dimension, from the Master of 'smoking mirrors' - (deceives or distorts the truth) ... ;)) BB

Intriguing and so sensitive, as all of your work is. Hello again Nikolai, I hope you are fine and life is good to you!

Reflection shots can be so obvious, which is one reason I try to avoid them, because I'm just stating the obvious---worlds collide, they blend (as in Photoshop), and they're cool. To make a reflection shot sing, one has to go past the appeal of the obvious, like going past the appeal of a sunrise or sunset, and bringing forth what was stunning about them the very first time one saw them. This is such a reflection shot, as if it were the first time we ever saw the magic of reflection. The collage of elements---brought to a peak with that big "24," as if you pasted it into the picture (I know you didn't)---is marvelously complex; and you let a portion above the top black border---the black line near the top of the shot---stay in the picture, with a big bold snippet of a building-reflection in it, to draw us to it. Small point, but it's a terrific inclusion. And the whole thing is 'grounded' by, of course, the wall at bottom---taking us back to the street and out of the dream---and the 3 groups of people. One of them is ON the street, looking in; and the other two are on a ledge almost in the window itself. And you even caught some bricks or boulders on the sidewalk...Nikolay, I give a lot of deep praise in your gallery, but you're simply one of the finest artists here, and one of the best I've seen. This is archetypal and totally fresh---I'll try to explain: Recently I was reading a discussion of Beethoven's feared "Hammerklavier Sonata," and the writer said the sonata suffered from the title, "monumental". Because "monumental"---like monuments---implies that the work has passed from freshness to 'staid' or 'honored' or 'revered'---which becomes static. And the writer said that the Hammerklavier is about "explosions of energy," it's forever slapping us, prodding us, unsettling us (and its final movement, the famous Hammerklavier Fugue, is meandering, strange, almost irritatingly trivial at first, but it winds up plunging and leaping in tectonic shifts and blasts, which, as we get close to it, unseats us and leaves us breathless): That's what living art does to "archetypes". It makes them alive, fresh, slaps us in the face, wakes us up, brings us to an 'original' state...When I call your pieces "archetypal," I mean 'that' kind of archetypal: They touch things basic to all of us, but not by being "honorable" or stone monuments...rather, they are surprising, fresh, eye popping, and pick us up from wherever we are and deposit us back in the beginning. THAT kind of archetypal. The original experiences. Terrific image.

I love the multiple layers this has, especially since none of them are obvious! They seem to overlap, and yet they're distinct from one another as well, but taken together, they create this rich tapestry-sort-of-thing, all bound together by dancing shapes. I really love the sense of movement this has, especially with the children. What's most intriguing--to me, at least--is the question this raises. Well...lots of questions. I wonder what I'm actually seeing and there are parts of this that make me feel as if I'm seeing through something, while other parts of this make me sure that I'm seeing a reflection, but I'm not quite sure of the angle. Glass has such a strange quality: crystalline and liquid...and yet it's something distinct. It's...well...it's glass. The play of colors is fantastic, as is the dance between light and shadow...I really seriously like this!
