Description
I am working on a illustrations of the legends of the Clan, and the flag just looks so fake. What can I do?

Adding a texture to the displacement map is a good place to start. Texture always adds a bit a realism to literally any cloth. You could also bump up the specular lighting to give a little sheen to the flag. And third, you might turn down the ambient light to say 25 at 75% to give a deeper shadow. And last, play with your lighting, both your sun and any fill lights you may be using. Looking at your image, you may want to try this on the walls also. I like the layout and composition. It just needs a little work. Good luck from one Scotsman to another.

Thanks! Now to adding a texture to an already produced displacement map... Bumping up the specular lighting is a possibility, but I will have to add one... I continue to play with the Sky, sun shadow box (on the piper) and a plane (fill light) on the piper as well. The adjustments to the sun and sky will alter and MAY get the better ambient look on the castle but not the flag. I changed the direction of the Sun so that the appearance of sun set was there as well. I will have to figure out how to add a texture to the displacement map... or when I tweak the settings in LUX set it for cloth. Again thanks for the advice. I always take more when given!
