Description
At various points on the hiking trails at Lema Ranch, there are posts with chains connecting them at the end of a path & signs that read "Private Residence, Please Respect Our Privacy". I found this polite "honor system" very refreshing & civilized. No fortified gates (nothing physically preventing visitors from just stepping over or walking around the chain) & no heavy handed "No Trespassing, Violators Will Be Prosecuted" signs. And I suspect that people do respect those symbolic barriers.
Anyway, this photo was taken from one of those spots. I'm guessing that this building is some kind of conference center or administrative building for the foundation that owns Lema Ranch, though there were no humans present, just the geese. I have one more photo - a wider shot of this building & it's surroundings - in this series that I'll post tomorrow & then move onto something else...

I like the geese all lined up like that. There are so many nice lines in this shot. Cut marks on the grass, siding on the building, the water iris (or whatever) on the right ... they give the composition a minimalist feel even though there's a lot going on. I like! :)

From my POV as a retired military guy, the geese are probably just waiting for their sergeant to holler, "Fall-in":) Like it.
