Description

Also this is Berlin. No tourist route. Built around 1900 as a tenement with up to 5 backyards. In the backyards trade were established. This backyard has survived the wars. You do not find many more .... a touch of nostalgia ..... a piece Old Berlin.

A very good photo of the reality of the old city. The building does look like it has gone through some hard times, but at least it is still standing.

It is part of a city, always a side to show and a hidden one.

I can tell that it is an old building because of your detailed photo but I think I see that some of the windows have been updated!

Berlin as it really is - not the cleaned up routes Berlin tourists will see. Fine catch, there are not many of them anymore. Would be a fine catch for my series UNKNOWN BERLIN. Berlin dies - and nobody notice it. Nobody? Hmm, you noticed - and I, too
