BIO I'm an illustrator, and for the last 15 years I have been doing almost exclusively digital work--mostly covers for e-books and small presses; fantasy, SF and Paranormal Romance covers are my specialty. I use Poser, Photoshop and Painter, and a nifty little paint program called ArtRage. I have been lucky enough to have work shown on the BBC's The Sky at Night, done promotional artwork for the Hugos, and have digital art tutorials published in Michael Burn's Femme Digitale and Digital SciFi Art (Watson-Guptill 2004) as well as DVD covers, cd covers and e-book covers, most recently for Liquid Silver Books, Edge/Tesseract and Dragon Moon Press. I'm also a member of the International Association of Astronomical Artists. . When I have time, I do acrylic paintings for fun.
Commissions: I do 3d texturing and backgrounds now rather than book covers, and I do appreciate a good UV template to work on. Thanks for checking out my bio!

I feel poser or any 3d art is about what the artist wants, at least for posting here. also it is the right of the viewer to interpret it as they see fit. so what makes you happy is the first rule for creating art

Amazing scene.Well done!!

A a fine mysterious render. i am so glad you get to play sometimes. Odd how supposedly creative people like Art Directors get so stuck in their own little world that they lose sight of the word "Art" in their title.

nice work... even if is not 'bug hunt'... ----------------------------------------------------- grumbling.... if i see how you are rendering, then i'm cursing my siutation - old computer dead, new computer doesn't like my favourite software... grumbling... it will take a while until I can render again...

Gorgeous lighting!!!!!

Wonderful scene, so dynamic! Nice to see some cheesy stuff. All you need is to add a title in comic sans and it would be perfect!!! :-D

Heh heh heh! Sounds like a fun scene. On painting over Poser, isn't that what you usually do in your bug comic? I'm glad you're having fun being a little cheesy. And take those editors or art directors with a grain of salt. As a college friend used to say about Star Trek TNG, a topping of cheese is what makes it so good. I'm sorry I've taken so long to comment on this. I've been working on a prop set, and generally trying to things together. I'll be messaging you soon with some questions.

Very great scene & idea :)

I think RGUS is right--- this is something I'd like to do too, you just let yourself loose and do something fun like this. Yep, getting tired of glamor images too. I bet if this girl turned around, he might be able to grab that giant diamond. Nice scene!

What you call confused lighting is not too bad because there are two compartments to this image. A very tight and closed one at the front with a worried face to go with it and then a large space to the rear that goes all the way out of the window to the horizon and probably beyond. A massive busy depth contrasting with a very simple and claustrophobic couple of feet. Quite an interesting achievement… and obviously there's a story going on. It certainly draws us in.
